Meet Benjamin and Shiela (his wife)
Meet Benjamin and Shiela (his wife)
Ben has dedicated himself to serving God, especially through the prayerful study and proclamation of His word. He serves along with his wife, Shiela, who is a Christian teacher (elementary and secondary), by trade. She has taught around the world, most recently in the Upper Columbia Conference of SDAs. They have one daughter (1-2yrs). Their greatest joy is serving God.
Ben was trained as an evangelist and gospel worker through the Amazing Facts Center of Evangelism (AFCOE, 4-month intensive; Fall 2006), and through ministry studies in his undergrad and masters programs. He has lots of field training and experience through literature evangelism, foreign missions, Bible work, and public evangelism. He has served in gospel ministry positions within the Upper Columbia Conference, Northern California, Oklahoma Conference, and South Korean Union, doing missions, Bible work, and evangelism. Besides that, he's traveled the world to multiple states and countries, holding gospel seminars, winning souls for Christ.
Ben holds a Master of Ministry in Church Leadership and Management from Southern Adventist University (Collegedale, TN). His undergrad training was from Southwestern Adventist University (Keene, TX). He firmly believes the 28 fundamentals of Seventh-day Adventists, and our prophetic mission and message based on the historicist view of Bible prophecy. He believes in revival, reformation, and solid personal preparation for the soon-coming of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
He believes in supporting the mission of the local church and has served as an elder, Sabbath school teacher, and in multiple other capacities. He and his wife are currently members of the Hermiston, OR SDA church, where they served in school and church ministry. Ben has also volunteered time with orphanage work overseas, and simply loves helping people to know Jesus.
"So they taught in Judah, and had the Book of the Law of the LORD with them; they went throughout all the cities of Judah and taught the people." -2 Chronicles 17:9

An Idea Is Born
An Idea Is Born
Ever since the moment of Ben's conversion in 2003, he felt the call of God to preach and do ministry. As he watched brother Kenneth Cox lay out God's message in plain, simple English, Ben imagined preaching those same biblical truths to others.
He wondered if it could really be true, and that he wasn't mistaken. By God's grace, however, that call only deepened. He felt especially impressed by the Holy Spirit to do the work of evangelism (even from hearing that first Revelation Seminar where he gave his life to Jesus in baptism).
The Call Deepens and the Journey Begins
The Call Deepens and the Journey Begins
By the conviction of God's word, a burning message to share, and one sign and impression (prompting) after another, Ben moved forward in faith to answer God's call to ministry. He felt impressed, as did Paul, "woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel" (1 Cor. 9:16).
He preached his first ever sermon in spring of 2005 for a PUC vespers (having had no training yet, but a little coaching/advice). From there doors opened everywhere to preach and speak. This journey has taken him throughout the states and around the world, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. It led him to share online too.
